I'm having an injury and expecting to stop running for a minimum of 3 months. Not wanting to lose all the fitness, I'm thinking about doing some elliptical. My question is, is doing elliptical for 3 months worthwhile for whatever fitness it can preserve, considering how boring it is? Or am I better off with, say 2 months of total rest and 1 month of elliptical to give me a head start before I can get back into running?
