If someone is discussing what one should eat, we should discuss what the species evolved to eat. You wouldn't give a panda bear a diet of eucalypt leaves. And you wouldn't give a koala bear a diet of bamboo. Likewise, humans evolved to eat a specific diet. And by looking at our anatomy, and physiology and comparing to other animals and which ones we are most similar to. We can figure out what we are meant to eat.
We also evolved to reproduce with our cousins, defecate on the ground without washing our hands, walk everywhere we need to go, give birth with zero anesthetic or medical intervention, and murder anyone who doesn't belong to our tiny tribe of 30 people. Do you know anyone who does any of those things? While it's important to be informed about our evolutionary history when making personal health decisions, don't pretend that we can't find other ways of living, because no modern human's life looks like the lives of our evolutionary ancestors. Plenty of people do just fine without meat as long as they get the necessary macros and nutrients. Diet is just one of many living patterns that we've used our big boy brains to modify according to our needs.
