Anecdotal evidence .. But I went to a strict plant based diet (no animal products) 3+ years ago and it was the best thing I ever did. Just do the research on your own and find out what is best for you.
Anecdotal evidence here too. Went on a strict plant based diet too, for almost four years. No cheating at all, no junk food, did it exactly how they say to do it. Took B 12 supplementation and everything. Worse thing I have ever done. Progress in my running performances stalled and declined. No sex drive at all, in my four years of this experiment, I would never wake up with morning wood. Now since switching my focus to red meat, I wake every morning with morning wood. My sex drive is way up now. My whole life, I never had any dental problems. No cavities or anything. After two years of eating a vegan diet started getting cavities left and right, my teeth got real sensitive and my gums started to bleed. I could never do any real intense running. My breathing never felt right in races. After two years or so I could not go more than two hours without eating. I got some bad mental problems too, bad anxiety to the point of being paranoid. Also, at the end my heart started to feel real funny. Probably described it as a heart palpitations. All of these issues went away as soon as I incorporated animal products as the cornerstone of my diet. My teeth used to be see through thin, now after 6+ months they look much more healthier, the sensitive has gone away and my gums don't bleed anymore. My training has improved dramatically, I don't have the same breathing problems I would when I was only eating plants. As mentioned earlier, my sex drive has improved dramatically. And best of all, my anxiety problems have went away. And my heart doesn't feel funny any more.
