Haven't taken her home yet...but first thing I will do is take her to the track

Dogs should always have a two-syllable name beginning with a consonant and ending in a vowel sound.
Laney
Shadow
Bella
Bailey
etc.
One-syllable words are for commands: sit, stay, down, no
Lolo
Marathon. That way you can say you ran marathon everyday after work.
take your time. Until she grows up you'll be calling her some made-up thing like puppy-uppy-shnuppy-ups.

I agree with the two-syllable rule partly for the reason given, but I think the vowel-sound rule is unnecessary.
This being a running site, I think Jordan would be a great name

If her coat veers more toward the poodle ancestry you could call her Afro or Pubes.

"I run marathon every day after work."
Only works if you are ESL. Otherwise the sentence structure will jump out at everybody. They might not understand you are referring to running with your dog, but nobody will think you're running a marathon everyday.
Pacer? I always thought it would be a pretty sweet name for a running buddy

I also thought Desi....but people here seem to be against her...does have that ending in a vowel though

That's actually not bad :)
Abe Lincoln's dog's name was "Fido."
It's Latin for "I am faithful."
