See how we treat our allies? We send them this crap?
Its no wonder nobody likes us.

Actually, this could be a new tactic to get Saddam to disarm- send the penguin over there and have him lecture Saddam on the "joys" of waddling. Saddam will give up and disarm in about 10 minutes. No one can take the penguin for that long.
Methinks you protest too much about John B. I kinda doubt he envisions himself as the 'saviour' of slower runners.
why you continue to defend the penguin.
Yeah, I am sure that is why no one likes Americans...assuming that no one likes Americans that is. I am betting there will be some Iraqis happy to see US soldiers getting rid of Saddam.

I'll assume, for the purpose of this discussion, you're one of those that feels John B is largely responsible, but not as much as Jeff G, for the erosion and decline in American running the past half dozen years. To that I say you are wrong.
He has his choir that he preaches to and hardly see how that has anything to do w/slowing times in recent years or in lessening expectations. I won't go so far to defend everything that comes out of his mouth but ask you to go light on him.
I read a helluva lot of material on running but have never made it beyond the first paragraph of anything John B has written. I've never seen him at an expo. He does not say the kinds of things I care to hear. Defend him...me? I'll defend him against those that assign blame for US running to him...but he's not my cup of tea as a speaker or writer.
"methinks" How many people on this board consider this a frequently used term? It's of personal interest to me...
