Hold up. Aren't you the guy always complaining about spring shoes and so forth? What makes it ok for new balance but not Nike?
oh I definitely still have a problem with them all
but I started to realize that until this becomes REALLY stupid, like a new CR/AR/WR every race, age-groupers destroying records, with every manufacturer producing further and further aggressive technology producing impossible gains, nothing is ever going to be said or done about it, people just write it off in their heads as "oh better training"
and as long as it was just Nike, everyone was just going with it for some reason I also don't understand
so people have to decide, at what point is it getting ridiculous? 4%? 5%? 6%? how about 9%? 10%? would 14% be too much? if so, why is 4% okay?
when someone can just do 25mpw, put on a special pair of shoes and run a 3 hour marathon, suddenly the BQ is going to become 2:45
then we can all have a discussion about it and if it's the shoes or not
may be too late but at least we'll all be on the same page
2024+2028 Olympic standards are going to be *fascinating*
