If no high schooler breaks 4 minutes, who will come closest?
LV guys will be close. Affolder 4:02 and Hunter 4:03.
Best bet is Cole Hocker. Cole has a 50 400m, 1:50 800m and an 8:56 but has only ran 4:12 mile which should change next time he races it. He split 4:05 last year in the DMR.

Leo dasbach from highland. Ran a solo 4:06 and solo 1:50 800 at the AZ State meet.
Cole Hocker will have a big chance of going sub four post season. He has crazy speed, probably the speediest Footlocker champion of all time. 49 relay split, 1:50 800. Also he is rumored to run at the Pre Classic, which he would have a good chance of going sub 4, theres no way he will ever go sub 4 in indiana.

Gotta believe Payamps would be in the mix. 1:50 in the 800 two weeks ago and 8:52 for 3200 last week with a big negative split.
obviously katelyn tuohy duh
More will be murdered in mass shootings than going sub 4. Which is the only country in the western world where one could make such a statement. Go USA.
Yes you took us off topic quickly. If we reinforced traditional family values, we would eliminate shootings and improve running times.

Not really considering we are the only country who still runs the mile/1600 instead of the 1500.
The only runner I could have seen breaking 4 this year would have been Easton Allred. Unfortunately, he's been laden with injuries throughout the whole year following cross country. He ran a 4:32 this year, off of maybe 5 miles per week training, and an injured IT band.
I don't know what the definition of a 'High Schooler' would be for a non-American, but in GB Kane Elliott ran 3:46 1500m last year, at age 16, and Max Burgin ran 3:47 at the same age (and of course a 1:47 800m). Both could potentially beat Steve Cram's record as the youngest British sub 4 minute miler this year.
Didn't the son of Dick Quax recently run a super fast 1500m? I think he is actually at an American high school too.

Theo Quax is at Northern Arizona University, so he's out (he did run like 3:38 though). Unfortunately the fastest actual high schooler in America is only 4:05 right now, with quite a few at 4:05-4:06. I think we'll see multiple 4:02-4:03 performances but I'm hesitant about a sub-4:00.
