So 6 days after USATF 21.1K (Half Marathon Champs in Pgh), we have USATF 25K Champs!? You can't make this stuff up. A 13 mile Championship race followed 6 days later by a 15 mile Championship race. Why not just hold them on back to back days in the same city and save these indigent runners some cash?
Is there a 30k championship? That makes more sense than having 25k when you already have a ~21k championship.
The race formerly known as the 5th/3rd River Bank Run 25k has been the USATF 25k Champs for decades.
The issue is probably with finding a half-marathon willing to host the USATF Half Marathon Champs.
There also a 20k champs in September.
The USATF 15k, 20k, and 25k champs have all been around for decades in the same place.

Are there any other top 10 results besides the top four? for the men.
Tyler McCandless in 4th.
Scott Smith in 2nd about 1 min 18 seconds behind Stinson.
3rd and 5-10th I’ve never heard of...and I’m fairly in tune with what’s going on.
STINSON AR

1:13:45 25k = 2:08 marathon according to VDOT
Ritzenhein training works BABY!

The guy catches a lot of slack in here, but that is a very impressive time.
Quick recap with top 20 results:
= 61:15 HM, 2:11:15 per IAAF, WMA tables. Decent, but nothing near 2:08 (VDOT is just plain wrong on road times)

If you can run 61:15, you shoyld be able to run faster than 2:11

So you are saying Ritz himself was weak over the marathon?
Where are all the Stinson haters today? #STINSANITY

Back in 2012, in a season when he went 60 minutes in the half, 27:36 in the 10k and 13:14 in the 5k.

2:07:47 = 59: 47 per IAAF. Pretty darned accurate.
Solid time from Stinson, to go 1:02 and keep on at that pace, a minute ahead of his opponents. Enjoy the AR. Sub-2:10 is coming from this guy.

Dude set the AR running all by himself most of the way. That’s impressive.
Also, Ryan Hall ran 1:13:25 en route to his 2:04 at Boston.

People love to hate but I think Parker is good for the sport. He lays it all out there every time. Today it worked out. People come on here and complain about pros running to win and not going all out. He doesn't do that and gets slammed all the time.
All that said, congrats Parker. This is well deserved. I'm feeling a sub-2:10 in the near future.
Also I agree with the chatter about the 1/2 & 25k Champs being too close together. The 25k is much more prestigious and should stay IMO. Have Houston be the 1/2 Champs. It basically is with who shows up there. Or find another race you can space out. I don't know how much folks love the course in Pittsburgh. I think, since people don't always race the half a ton, that it'd be beneficial to put the Champs on a faster course.
Another parallel with Cabada.
