Hoka created a poor man's version of the breaking 2. Do they really think people are going to buy their shoes over the Nike Vaporfly's? I'd laugh seeing anyone wearing those clown shoes other than the people paid to wear them.

Probably going to sell out the first day.
Yes, when are they going be out for the general public? I liked how they looked during the record attempt.

May 15th is what their site says. Not sure if they'll be in retailers by then, though.

Ok, thanks. Never bought Hoka, do they run small or big?

Hoka wearers tend to be big joggers. You can't run in any shoe that clunky.
Hokas are not clunky, at least the models I've tried. They are quite light but soft and since the heel-to-toe drop is low, your turnover remains quick. After picking up a pair of the Napali's I was instantly sold. The most comfortable trainers I've even owned.
This thread backfired. Someone really wishes Hokas weren't around.
People buy the dumbest sh1t. Have you ever browsed the "As Seen on TV" section of Walmart? Have you ever seen visors that have wigs on them? Have you ever seen a Hyundai?
People are dumb. They will buy it.
No, they will buy the good hokas tho.
Some people make a point of pride of not wearing nike, adidas, etc. For others, the high stack height and drop of the vaporflys are too much. For these people, the hoka shoes might be great.

Some people make a point of pride of getting drunk every weekend or being an @$$hole to servers at restaurants. Not a good excuse.
I am reviewing a pair right now.
I have been pleasantly surprised, actually, even if the cushion is a bit softer than I would prefer. My understanding is that the target market is from Marathon - Ultra, and I can see it being a useful tool. My only concerns at this point are 1. the price, and 2. the longevity of the EVA based foam.
Easily my favorite Hoka ever, but tbh that isn't saying much. But yea, for the right person, it will be worth spending money on.

No it didn't. No serious runners are going to be racing in an inferior shoe.

What's the price point going to be?

Who said they are for serious runners? They are for people racing for 4:45 and walking/jogging for 20K.
Based on this, they are the perfect shoe for your next marathon, although i'm not sure you will walk/jog 20K after your 4:45 "performance".
I think they are going about to retail for $180.
Not sure if I would waste that amount of money on some sneakers like this. But hey, a sucker is born every minute.
