Cal Ripken Jr. played for many years without a day off, If you will open your mind and read his personal account of his career, you will see that he played with far worse than a sore hamstring many, many times. The old timers who played for the love of the game were more in line with Cal Ripken Jr.s attitude than today's spoiled brats who are overpaid.
At least a few of his managers and teammates thought that Ripken should have taken some days off and that the streak hurt his production but he wanted to make his mark with the streak which will forever line his pockets.
How can you compare a sport which requires endurance with a sport that requires acute hand/eye coordination? It's idiotic.
