This will be interesting to watch.
Here is a little overview of the runners (in my predicted order) with their DUV statistic profiles. Go to the Personal Best tab.
Men
Hideaki Yamauchi 6:18:22 (2016) 6:23:49(2018) two-time defending world 100km champion

Tyler Andrews 50k 2:56:02 (2016)

Yoshiki Takada Former indoor marathon world record holder

And they are off.
Didn't catch the women's lead split, but here is what the commentators said:
17:57 for the Andrew and Jim 2 seconds behind
18:10 for the second pack
18:56 I believe for the master runner(doing this off of memory, might be off a little)
19:36
And didn't catch the women's split.
That's for the first 5k.
I’m on course in bus and saw them before 10Ksb. Yamauchi has gone out faster than expected and was right on walmsley. Is there a timing site with splits? What was 10K split?
And I can’t believe I thought I’d need a calculator to figure out 6 hour pace. It’s 36 minutes per 10K. Which Jim was behind
I believe Tyler crossed 10k bang on 36:00 and Jim was 10sec behind

Commentators haven't said yet, the gist the commentators gave of Yamauchi was going sit back for a while and comeback from behind. I guess not. Yamauchi does look like he has a better stride for ultras compared to Andrew and Jim.

The beauty of the metric system.
Looks like Jim is going for the 100k world record . Tyler going for 50 mile maybe ? Walms is on his game .
something tells me Jim is only doing this so that people will stop talking about his epic blowup 7:05 at the 2015 world 100k champs
I’m impressed with stream so far. Figured we really wouldn’t see much until they got on loop of course.
Anyone know of timing site?
Think Toni Reavis said 53:18 for Tyler at 15k. 53:52 for walmsley and 54:0? For yamauchi
54:00 is 6 hour pace. So much for yamauchi going out at 6:20 pace
15k splits:
Andrew 53:18
Jim 53:52
Yamauchi 54:06
Wardian(?) 57:09
Relay information?
Pretty interesting that Hoka has built this event around a thick soft shoe with a full carbon plate but so far Rojo has offered up zero commentary on whether or not such a type of shoe is totally fine for record purposes or if it’s actually cheating.
Rojo has often claimed his job is to ask the questions. But it looks like all you have to do is throw some cash at him and he’ll embrace your shoes and event with no questions asked.
Somebody should remind Nike to click the Letsrun Donation button before their next event.
Definitely impressed with this stream. Wish they showed the woman’s race a bit more, but it looks like Sabrina may be the only woman running?
Tyler, Jim and Yuki still appear to be running relaxed. All really close to sub 6 hour pace.
Is that Lutz in the front?
I love this shoe so much. Its brand name Thien ha bet
