Freshwater Trout typically do not have high levels of mercury. Wild Salmon and Shrimp have almost no mercury. Large Walleye tend to be higher. In general, the larger the fish, the higher the concentration.

I do not like seafood. I can eat tuna fish sandwiches (absolutely no issues with tuna fish sandwiches) and limited amounts of seafood sushi, but otherwise, I can't stand seafood of any kind. I really, really want to like salmon, among seafaring foods.
As a kid, there were many things I could not bear to stomach, but with the exception of seafood, I outgrew my dislikes.
There's got to be a way to train my taste buds. Any tips?
start by sucking salt off your toes .

Graduate from your mother's basement and develop adult tastes?
McDonalds filet o fish sandwich.
That's all you need.
Spend two weeks eating one small meal per day and averaging 2 to 4 hours sleep per night, until you start hallucinating about food. At the end... you'll eat anything, then have a nice piece of Wild caught Alaskan salmon, don't go for that farm raised Atlantic crap. It will be the best thing you've ever eaten.
Add sauce or cheese. Everything tastes better with cheese.
You need a trip to Portland, Maine.

Splurge on some nice scallops next time you have the chance. Best non fish seafood there is.
Scallops are one of my faves
Salmon is too fishy. Try tilapia or mahi-mahi. They are pretty neutral tasting.
i hated fish till age 25.
except smelts i caught and cooked.
then i ate sushi while getting drunk .
now it's my favorite food, that is raw fish.
and fried eel.
the secret? fresh fish, asians serve.
americans and canadians treat fish like beef and pork and chicken.
which is a disaster. you have to eat fish caught in a day or two but not more.
and fresh fish sushi and cooked does not taste fishy
when it tastes fishy, it's going rotten.
try steamed fish from a good chinese restaurant.
i
fried fish can sometimes knock out the old fish smell and rot.
Try shellfish. How can you not like shrimp, lobster, scallops, oyster and clams?
I hate seafood, even tuna and sushi. But then I tried fresh Halibut breaded in coconut and THAT is some good stuff!
Try not to think of lobsters and crab as "insects" of the ocean.

Not a vegan (because who wants to give up cheese and delicious grass fed local beef?) BUT... there are certain non meat grains/veggies with higher and more complete sources of protein than meat: quinoa, edamame, beans.
Plant based diets are healthier and better for the environment. But meat can be harvested and eaten in environmentally friendly ways.
Yes,some plants may have all the amino acids we need. But, they are not in the ratio we need. And, we are not made to get most of our nutrients from plants, you will not adsorb a good percent of the nutrients you think you are getting from reading the nutrient label. And, the idea that plant based diets is better for the environment is a bunch of BS.
Oh I’m with you. Locally sourced, grass fed meat on smaller scale farms is more environmentally friendly than eating things like say internationally grown bananas and avocados. When I say plant based I mean more of an 80/20 split without sacrificing protein. Eating meat on the level of the average American is NOT environmentally friendly. Or healthy for that matter. I found that decreasing my meat intake and upping the veggies and more complex grains has helped me maintain my weight as I enter my mid 30s.
And vegans eat weirdly engineers fake food that I imagine are not environmentally friendly.

No. Biomagnification as I said the first time. Look at my user name. Look up the definition for the word I used. Know that I am right and you are wrong.

Be careful with tilapia. Tilapia is a freshwater fish that many people who aren't allergic to any other saltwater seafood are allergic to.
If you eat Tilapia, eat a small amount the first time and watch for signs of allergy. Just be careful.
Really no need to go try to make yourself like seafood.

Getting you sick results in bigger profits for them. And now they(big agriculture/big pharma) are hand in hand with each other, via Monsanto Bayer merger.
"Big Pharma" would much rather fill you up with meat and saturated fat, so they can pump you full of statins.

That's only if you believe in that outdated science about dietary cholestrol. Only a fool would take statins, which only have negative benefits.
Eating a plant based diet is not optimal for neither the planet or environment.
