I want to see the men race at no faster than 5 minutes per mile through 25 miles. I want to see the men race last 1.2 miles at sub-4:20 per mile pace.

I think you're absolutely right about the weather and running tactic. With this strategy they would run the fastest possible time. BUT I believe for Kipchoge it's not about the if he wants to run he will run in Berlin and without that many challengers and only focus about time. In London he want to win to show he can beat them all. So I think he know he is the fastest runner so he will say to pacer shock Farah, Kitata.... with a blistering fast pace from start. Then they must decide will I run on my own or will I go with the pacers. So this why Kipchoge told he will run the first half not faster like 61.20. So the guys like Farah haven't there own pacers. If Kipchoge says he will go the first half in 60.30 Farah would say he will his own pacers like Kipsang in Berlin. And so for Kipchoge it would be a big risk when he run that fast and the pacer go out that Farah could catch him with a better pacing. So Kipchoge will destroy the field with a hard pace that every athlete is at his own from k 30. The first 5k will be under 14 and the first half under 60:40 maybe 60:20. If Kipchumba is pacing and is in form and fit he can be really important he can pace and really fast pace maybe until 30k. But we will see.
I heard Gideon Kipketer will be pacing with Eric Kiptanui and not Daniel Kipchumba!? + Stephen Kiprop
I don't know if the pacemakers can run 60:40 pace with a headwind, maybe they can, but they would be toast after 20-25k!
Prediction: The marathon landscape as we know it right now will be completely different following London.
Whether or not this includes Kipchoge running away late is not what I'm getting at. I'm saying we will be in turmoil following this race.
Ok. I only heard it from Mr. Canova in a post for some months. But he said that Daniel had some trouble with his tendon and it's not sure if he can pacing. Anyway Erick Kiptanui in Form and healthy would be even better for pacing. And I think the first 30 k is with some tailwind. Your right from k5 until km12 they had headwind but then the course will comeback to west so we have another tailwind session for around 10k. So the first 25 should be possible. But when the course turns back you re over 15 km only headwind this would be the tough section.
You're right with Erick Kiptanui. He even wrote me that he will be pacer.
He and Gideon will pace 100%. Who is the 3rd pacer, any idea? Heard Stephen Kiprop but nothing official.
No. I don't know sure. I also heard Stephen Kiprop (would be great). I asked Erick if he will Pacing under 61. He wrote back. YES.
The first half is comfortably the faster half, and the first 5k includes a big downhill stretch.
Try to remember this before adding to the annual LRC freak out about the fast early pace.
Are you sure he understood your question well? Maybe he understood around 61. Would be really interesting to see what happens if they go out blazing again. If you go on the NN running team facebook page, you'll see a photo of them during a run in London with Eliud,Eric,Gideon, Mule wasihun, leul gebrselassie and an another guy. Who is he?

Just read the women’s Preview on this site. Didn’t learn much new. Hope the men’s one has a stab at a finishing order.
He only wrote Yes so it could be be that he didn't full understand. Maybe Laban Korir but really hard to say.

I’ll say Kipchoge remains dominant and runs the 2nd fastest time ever; Abraham Kiptum runs sub-2:04 and places top-3; Farah looks like a douche at some point in the race.
Man, I already blew it. I should’ve known Mo would look like a douche well before the race began.
That was funny
I hope some of you guys took Kosgei at 6/1, the best you can get now is 7/2.
Kipchoge spotted out on an easy run in London yesterday, wearing the new Nike xext% of course.
Eliud will win in 2:03 mid to 2:03 low. Farah will set the Euro record in either 2nd or 3rd. I'll go out on a limb and predict Kosgei upsets Keitany on the women's side.

Damn it.

For Kosgei to win, I think she needs to break it open at mile 11 or 12 because at the metaphorical turn, if keitany is still fresh and you are still within sight; her NY second half says she will still win.

I'll go with this - good call.
Kipchoge in mid to high 2:02.
2 or 3 of the Africans ahead of Mo.
Mo runs in the 2:03:30-2:04:30 range.
Top 5 to 8 under 2:05.
In the women’s, the big four are untouchable plus Birhane Dibaba is the gatekeeper with her 8 marathons under 2.24. Watch the times of third to fifth for the fastest ever results: third is 2.18.55, fourth is 2.19.53, and fifth is 2.20.13 (funnily enough belongs to H.Tesfaye who is here).
