Researchers at the University of Montreal have discovered by brain scan that leaf play "has activated certain areas in all four brain lobes," and parts of the brain have been active. Leipzig researchers then discovered that musicians have a larger planum temporale, a part of the brain associated with the ability to read well. The musicians also had stronger nerve fibers that connect both parts of the brain.
