Most people here are underder the impression that any relatively sporty/competitive person who is not a runner could run good sprint times but completely tank after that but have you ever met somebody who could beat 90% of runners who never even runs? I’m talking about running at least a sub 18 for men or sub 22 for women just only conditioning from another sport? (No supplemental running) If so, what sport were they from?
Who has said untrained athletes could run “good” sprint times? By what standard? If people aren’t specifically training for an event they aren’t running “good” times, and this fact will be commensurate to race distance.
Maybe some decent male soccer player could run a 56-second quarter, but that isn’t good by any standard ... except for being an untrained sprinter ... who does a sport with a lot of running at variable intensities.
There isn’t a non-runner on the planet that is going to put up “good” times in any event.
Are you asking us to qualify shades of mediocrity?
