She is the type of person who needs variety to stay interested. She should consider running in a costume in both training runs and the actual race to keep things fresh and provide content:
People react to a lady in a pregnant costume busting out a beer mile
I did a long run dressed as Vin Banana and Stephanie Hightower chased me the whole way
Prediction: DNS
She's a young person still figuring things out- its only magnified because she brings other people along with her journey (which is a good thing!) . Good for her for not sticking with a job/pro running career that she truly did not want at the time.
Saw the video of her trying to train the pull up with a trainer. I knew it would never happen. Trainer had her doing all this crap that had nothing to do with a pull-ups.
I think she will do the marathon but I’m going to say 3:10. She will miss some training. Her last vid she said running 7:30 was hard. Wish she would give up the “ What’s up Fellas” and all the goofy talk.
2:56 on Facebook Live
Like most people, I had never heard of this person before so I just looked at her Instagram. The second post his her hawking L-Carnitine supplements. Just found that amusing
Go Emma!!
No, it's about her figuring out what she wants to do.
Go get it Emma!
Her channel was really only interesting when she was running in college. After that it just became sad.
Only white people get to do sh!t like this. For the rest of us, life comes at you pretty quickly and you either put up or you're fvcked...
It seems like you are disappointed with her because she didn't live up to YOUR expectations. And because of this, you feel obligated to be the judge of her future... She is figuring things out.
No one is forcing you to watch her videos.
She is being herself, it's sad that you won't be more accepting of that.

Actually, I am disappointed. She had a platform to shape young minds and set a good example, and as someone else pointed out, she seems to only care about promoting dubious products as long as she gets paid. She will literally hold up anything to the camera and promote it regardless of whether it's actually good for her audience. Most of her audience consists of high school girls. What she is selling them is a disservice. She quit Oregon then proceeded to quit every other thing she has started. Maybe she needs a break from social media, but that will never happen because she has no other skills and no other means of support.
Not everyone gets 5 strikes with mommy and daddy as a backstop. She's going to drag her supporters on another journey where she will ultimately quit again.
She’s looking pretty thick these days
Sub3 goal realistic?
I don't know how well someone with a middle distance background is going to do when the race is only a few months out and she struggles with consistency. My best guess is that she doesn't train very well and runs between 3:20-3:30. If she's trained well and maintains discipline she could run sub 3.
I agree that some marketing and advertisement is unfair and not right. But that really has nothing to do with what you and a few others were talking about before...
When people struggle to follow through with things, and/or do the right things, it's usually because they are dealing with some imbalances and challenges. NOT because they wants viewers and attention as you put it.
You need not be so angry, try compassion.
Support her in this time where she can learn and grow from her experiences.
I hope you would want the best for her.
I've followed her channel since the beginning,
1. she'd be a 10 if it weren't for the nose
2. The cute goofy personality makes up for the nose
3. She does tend to jump into things without finishing them, for example I expected her to get at least 1 pullup
4. She probably never should have left Atlanta, there is no perfect job, she would still have the team she so desperately needs to train with
5. She seems to want to stay in the San Diego area where she was raised. 99.9% of millennials will never be able to afford real estate in the bay area. The older folks got their homes before the tech boom made everything 1 mill +
6 She needs to accept that she will never be as small as she was in college, She literally grew up and finished puberty after all the running she did in her teens and early 20s. Her entire musculature and bone structure has changed, her voice has deepened, etc
7. I think the marathon is a really big step, mabe try for a fast half?
I saw her at the Carlsbad 5k, and she has head-turner good looks in person. She and her sisters dominated San Diego high school running for a few years. I wish her the best of luck with whatever she pursues.
Reply to #5: San Diego is in no way the Bay Area - SD is of course very expensive but not anywhere close to as expensive as SF. Maybe 99.8% of millennials can afford a home in San Diego ;)
Did she really say she didn’t get her period until she was 22? If so, I wonder what other high level pre/early teens have late onset of puberty and therefore are so good at such a young age. Interesting though, because with someone like Jordan Hasay, whatever her development was like, the running still translated.
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
Des Linden: "The entire sport" has changed since she first started running Boston.
Matt Choi was drinking beer halfway through the Boston Marathon
