Ignore the quality of your miles and focus on the quantity.
I was a very talented middle school/9th grade runner, and I'm picking up running again now at age 40, and I'm pure crap with no talent.
I'm 20-30 lbs overweight, I have bad body proportions with short legs and a long, heavy torso, and running 3 miles is an accomplishment.
Being special as a runner shouldn't decide whether or not you do it. It's great for your health, great for adding years to your lifespan, great for mood stabilization, and it's even great for getting a little high.
Just keep an eye on your heart, and you'll notice that your resting heart rate will drop very nicely if you stick with jogging for any length of time.
And the best way to get started is by jogging for a bit, then walking for a while, then jogging for a bit, and gradually increasing your minutes running.
And you can always take breaks at any point in a run if your heart rate is troubling you.
