I always stay at the wal mart by the casino. Member of Anytime Fitness so I can shower there. Usually car camp but I have a black promaster van now that I could stealth camp in for long periods of time if I wanted. I've run quite a few races in that area over the years.
North Carolina. You have Charlotte and asheville, really good running communities. Weather is moderate, you will be paying probably closer to 800 to 100, but if you have roommate you can keep it closer to 600. weather is moderate, but if you live up in Blowing Rock it is perfect. ZAPP an Elite training group trains their. ever bite as good as Boulder and flagstaff.
I doubt anyone will believe me, but Fayetteville Ar is actually really good. They have an amazing running culture, because of U of A and the local running store. You have trails, and a long green way. Plenty of competitive races. It is really cheap. Dickson street is legendary!! Temperature is moderate. Culture wise it's pretty moderate, but outside the city it gets pretty red.
You could easily rent a mobile home for that.
Also you can find an apartment in any city in the Midwest for that.
Try Louisville, KY.

Two great calls.
I'll add Stillwater, Oklahoma.

I'll elaborate on that. Endless miles of dirt roads, nice rolling hills.
Also a great cross country course if you want to get on the grass.

Looking for a place with these parameters:
1) Year around runnable weather
2) Decently developed, decent population
3) Abundance of studios with less than $600/mo in rent.
Getting REALLY sick of Seattle
Boulder man! I used to Live in Seattle. Actually I plan on going back because the track club is better there (IMO).
OK, you can't find studios for less than 600, (or 1200). But you can easily live in your car because if you're shooting for $600 for a studio then you are really looking for a third world country. I recommend PERU. high andes.
All weather is runnable, but in that regard it snows alot in Boulder and that is far worse than the rain in Seattle. How about Juarez Mexico?
To the person that said "Kansas City" really?
Fayetteville, AR/NWA
Natural surface trails are great. Get to watch Indoor SECs most years. Rarely too cold, and you can wake up early to beat the heat.
Step 1: Purchase Cargo Van
Step 2: Customize Back of Van
Step 3: Mailboxes Etc for Physical Address
Step 4: Join Athletic Club/Rec Center
This should open up most possibilities as I thought about traveling for a year and doing something similar. Even with poor credit $400/month for van

BTW, I bought my house for $20k in Columbia MO which is a pretty decent running town. That's less than many pay for a car! It is paid off and I've added on to it and it is now worth more than $150k...
Can you email the link to your zillow? I want to move there. What does it look like.

Yep. Plus the emerald necklace and buckeye trail will give you endless running opportunities. Truly an underrated area with super cheap housing and plenty of healthcare jobs if that's your thing.

yeah. about the weather...
Albany, NY at least in the early 1990s. Is year round runnable if you have decent sized stones.

How is Carson City compared to Reno?
Carson City is smaller, safer, and super close to Lake Tahoe and trail running.
It's also really really boring, and you'd find yourself going into Reno constantly for the better food, better races, better training groups, and just more interesting stuff to do.
Reno is getting more expensive as tech companies move in, so if it's more about cost and you don't mind driving up the road to the big town all the time, Carson is fine.

I really didn't care for running in downtown Cleveland when I was there. It wasn't really pedestrian friendly. There was a desolate airfield along the lake shore without much access to walking/running trails, a lot of spooky abandoned industrial areas, and I literally had to hurdle a homeless man stretched out sleeping in the middle of the sidewalk.
