Idk but thats really good, when i was in 7th grade I didn’t train but ran a 5:30 and won basically every meet I was in for middle school. You obviously have trained based on your 3k, but a very good time, if you are top 1000 great! If not you have a lot of potential keep training hard and you’ll have a hopefully successful high school career. Im a freshman and it’s a lot different but keep working hard I have improved a lot just from running this winter. Also I’ve heard of 7th graders running sub 5 so idk about top 100 but maybe, best of luck!
Just saw your other post... no I dont think you’ll burn out, just keep your easy runs easy and by end of 8th grade maybe run 35 mpw with and 8 mile long run, I didnt run 40+ till this winter with a 9 mile long run and I enjoyed it, as long as you are enjoying it and making sure to take easy days you are all set. You might be able to run for a local high school team for XC.
If you are a girl I would say top 15 in US for your grade, If you are a boy I would say top 125 give or take. My son a few years back ran 4:56 as a 7th grader and I figured him to be top 100.
Also depends on your age because I have another son thats in 8th grade and is only 13 years old and has ran 5:09 thus far but only placed 5th in a dual meet tonight.
Those are very respectable times. The local high school coach is probably looking forward to seeing you on the team as a 9th grader.
And that's as far ahead or afield as you should look. Do not look at whatever state or national rankings or championships exist for your grade or age. All you want to do right now is keep the ball rolling and keep developing steadily each year. Some people say the time to go all out is high school, and others say to save some improvement for college, but no one anywhere thinks that the time to be a star is middle school.
