Okay so I started my outdoor season 2 weeks ago and I ran my opener 3200 in 9:43, and I'm pretty happy with it. But the thing is the way my meets are I have no competition in any of my meets except for that one. The next time I might have some would be early may. And that's hard to improve if you dont race hard every now and then(at least what I think) but I'm worried that I will loose all my winter base training with how my weeks are now. My winter training was averaging a little under 50 mpw and peaked at 60 miles. But now I have 2 meets a week and so that means another 2 days I have to go easy and barely get any miles in. And I'm afraid that means that I will not get to meet my goal of a mid 9:30 2 mile with how my weeks are, so I could use some help. For starters I was curious of how my week last week was and if that would be a good training week.
Monday-am 3 mi, PM pre meet, 3 miles
Tuesday- meet day, 7 miles total
Wednesday- am 3 miles, PM meet, 7 miles
Thursday- recovery day, 6 miles
Friday-speed work out, 6 miles
Saturday-12 mile long run
Total-50
That week just didnt seem good enough to me so I was curious, and am curious about a lot
