I am a freshmen and I am looking to run a sub 5 mile. I ran a 5:01 last week. My pr for the 800 is 2:15. What is some strategy I could use to go sub 5? Also, what splits should I try to hit?

i am also trying to go sub 5 best mile is 5:07
Assuming your still running and not hurt this week, you will do it. As a Freshman your general fitness is gonna be increasing.
I don't think its the best way to do it, but its just the way high school races go. Your gonna get caught up and run a fast 400 and it'll feel good.

Kinda funny also ran a 5:01 and a 2:18 two weeks ago in wind.
