Yes, the fraud was easy to report and Cap One made it seem like it was pretty straight forward when dealing with their fraud department, because it was. We went through all the motions, spending hours on the phone in total. Weeks passed during their investigation (and we received a temporary credit). But their final decision was that they are reversing the credit based on what NFCU said.
For what it’s worth, the Cap One supervisor in the fraud department I’ve been dealing with has “escalated” the issue to whichever management group. She said it’s clearly not us, so doesn’t know why it was overturned. So there’s a shred of hope I suppose, but we’re not holding our breath.
