I just realized that running trainers are built for adult runners who weight like 150 to 200lbs. Meanwhile, I'm wearing the same trainers and weigh only 105lb. Do lightweight smaller runners like myself need the extra bulk and support or will buying lighter trainers help us become more efficient and train harder?
Freshman year: trained 30mpw with Nike Pegasus 30ish [10oz] . I weighed 90lb back then.
Current Junior year: training 50mpw with Brooks Ghost 11 [11oz]. I weigh 105lb
I want to move to lightweight trainers to train over the summer. I found the Reebok Floatride Run Fast (6.6oz

) and and hoping they make my form more efficient.
I'm planning on getting 350mi on the shoes because I'm cheap and can't afford multiple trainers to last me the summer off season. If you guys think lighter trainers are better and don't like the Reebok Floatride Run Fast, give me some recommendations.
