Indeed, surely it doesn't, but it's definitely something I can imagine SJWs social medializing in alternate circumstances.

On another note, don't they usually build these things out of stones that don't catch on fire? Not possible for the whole thing to burn down. The spire was from the 19th century which isn't all that great a blow to history.
Ancient architecture is more renowned for producing ruins than more modern.

Dang, I meant to write “Wiggo” but the spellcheck rewrote it.
That was an act of God, not spell check.

Conflagrations destroy yet open opportunities for reconstruction. A 19th-century fire swept through Barcelona, but the damaged areas were rebuilt better than before.
Also the church was also closed at the time of the fire. So nothing was going on the church.
Closed at 6:50 pm [1850h] on Monday of Holy Week? Isn't there supposed to be some special Vespers going on or something, especially in the Cathedral (seat of metropolitan bishop)? Or is that too ancient for the modern populace.

Maybe it was Bordeaux, but one year I was in France during this season, and on the Monday the bishop decided to have his Maundy Thursday chrism service (all priests in diocese attend), likely because it was more convenient to do it then. I think one of the local churches (because their priest was at the cathedral) decided to have a tenebrae service (which is usually the end of Holy Week). So people just do whatever liturgie they want.

That guy is wrong, the church was not closed.
They were waiting for the USA to come and put the fire out. Just like the USA saved France in WW1 and again in WW2.
Dear CNN: Not Trump’s fault!
Huge bummer. Hope they rebuild the roof better than before!
