It's fun to watch shows when everyone else is watching, especially if it is a super popular show that everyone is going to be talking about the next day.
Your kids (with still firm bedtimes) have no issues seeing a child nailed to the wall alongside dismembered limbs?
They're tough these days.
then stay up late. you can't have it all. sheesh you millennials and boomers are insufferable. you both want your cake and eat it too.

The whole family recently binged watched all of the past seasons of GoT on HULU. Now that we're caught up to the current season, we wanted to all sit down and watch the new episodes real-time, but 10pm is way too late for the kids to go to bed when they have school the next day.
GoT has to be the most popular show in the country right now. Why can't they put it in a more family friendly time slot? Just sucks that the kids won't be able to watch when everyone else does.
I suspect a troll...

How would one eat cake that they didn't have?

To sum up the thread:
1) When has GoT ever been family friendly?
2) Why are kids with bedtimes allowed to watch it?
3) Do you also have a bedtime?
4) Didn't you say you wanted your whole family to watch it together, but then later say that is sucks that the kids won't be able to watch it when everyone else does, meaning that you are watching it without them, even though you all binge watched it on Hulu together, so what was the point in binge watching it together if you are going to tell them to go to bed and then proceed to watch it without them? Also you could just wait a day and watch it on demand and avoid the internet for spoilers instead of complaining on a lets run forum...
If you are a parent and your idea of a fun family night is watching game of thrones then you have more problems than the time the show is aired!!!!

I know.
Scheduling problems, mostly.
This weekend for instance, the Fam & I had to navigate movie weekend AND GoT.
Apocalypse Now before Scarface but not before Clockwork Orange which is better late night follow GoT. Put the kids to bed at midnight, strict rules!, even though it cut off Ludwig in his prime.
How many "family friendly" slots are sprinkled with the use of c*nt and f*ck?
I think a lot of people on this thread obviously aren't parents, or at least don't have younger kids currently. Kids are exposed to a lot more stuff a lot younger through video games and social media. Yeah, when I was a kid, a show like Game of Thrones would have been off limits, but most kids today are probably fine to watch it.

Describe “kids”. What age are we talking about here? What “kid” has a social media account? What “kid” is allowed to play video games that use vulgar language?
Just because other people fail to parent doesn’t mean I will fail to parent.
My 10 yr old does not have a cell phone. Why TF would a 10 yr old need a cell phone? Much less one capable of accessing social media and the internet.
We have an IPAD she uses quite a bit but she knows not to use the internet.
As a parent YOU control what YOUR child is exposed to while they are out of school. Just because other kids grow up hot and fast doesn’t mean yours has to.
Alan
Why would you want your kid to be behind their peers? Fitting in matters at that age.
You are making too much of what is ultimately just a cultural shift. There was a time when it was scandalous for a girl to wear a skirt that didn't go below her knee. Kids aren't being traumatized by the change in what is considered appropriate, and a kid definitely wouldn't be better off if their parents enforced an outdated dress code on them. Same applies to TV shows.
The one overarching question I have reading this thread: If kids are exposed to violence and sex watching shows like this and it is considered normal, or just a cultural shift, why the hell are the generations of people younger than 35 such snowflakes IRL???
The same with computer games, for crying out loud, they play out every possible combination of perversion and violence and but most in their teens and twenties can’t take a differing opinion IRL, consider it personal attack and need to have a safe space...
I’m not even going to address the emotional support pet issue... That’s definitely some weird s**t!!
I guess I will never understand... smh
I don't really care about parenting methods but I know I wouldn't have been able to sleep for a week if I saw a lot of the gore on GoT when I was 11.
How are they “behind their peers” by not watching GOT or by not having a cell phone?
I’m also against a two income family until the child is in school, IF the family can afford it.
I would rather my 10yr old not watch what is basically soft core porn in certain episodes.
You aren’t a parent I guess.

Anyone who doesn't get their children cell phones should be jailed for CHILD ABUSE.

You forgot /sarcasm tags;)
Stumbled across these Fender Custom Shop guitars.
The show features foul language and explicit nudity. Christ does not approve, even though the sinners often receive the corporal punishment they deserve. GoT is good for teaching kids that being lewd leads you to hell, but there's too much profanity with no consequences, so I'm not letting my kids watch the show.
I might DVR and edit a PG-13 version for my 16 year old though, cause he complains about feeling like an outsider at school every Monday.
