Hey everyone, so I’m a Junior in high school and this indoor season I ran a 53.9 400m and a 2:06 800m and then underwent a torn tendon in my ankle which I have recently come back from, in my first meet I ran a 2:07 800m and a 54 400m my main goal is the 800 and I know I have the speed because in workouts and some races I’ll come across the 600m mark between 1:27-1:30 but when I hit the 6 I seem to fall apart I know this happens because I sometimes open my first 400 too fast but recently I have been more consistent between 58-60 for my first lap but I still can’t get my feel for the second lap but when I finish I feel okay so I know I can push harder, does anyone have any tips that can help me push my boundaries a bit and drop my 800 time close to that 2:00 and maybe under, any help is appreciated thanks!
