Been to several of those recently
T&T is pretty darn safe but there have been a few ransom kidnapping mostly with Trinis who have family in the states and some wealth.
Ethiopia feels very safe, besides petty crime
Turkey, feels fairly safe, although I did get the feeling that if you fell asleep on a park bench you might wake up with fewer internal organs.
Philippines has some tough areas, but security is ever present and it feels like you can control your own destiny
