Does anyone know of any quality 1" inseam shorts that have an outside pocket (front or back) and do not look like the traditional split style. I want something with a square look, if possible.

Bunhuggers?
Thanks. These look good but are mostly (95%) cotton and do not have an outside pocket. I wonder about the quality too as the price is so low.
Also, I'm looking for men's shorts.
These are somewhat famous, and apparently good enough.
Inseam isn't a meaningful metric for most running shorts. It's the distance from the crotch to the bottom of the short, which can very widely depending on how high the crotch is. Outseam, the measurement from the waistband to the bottom of the short, would be more useful. Also, the reported inseams of many running shorts are not even close to the actual inseams. You almost have to treat the reported inseam as a subjective statement of how short the short is, so there's obviously variation from brand to brand.
But to answer your question, I can't think of any really short-shorts that have a truly square shape. There are some non-splits out there, but they usually have a substantial v-notch or cutaway on the outside that mimics the shape of a split short.
Here's a somewhat square-shaped short that's on the shorter side:

The Tracksmith VC short might work for you, too, but it lacks an outside pocket.
This is a troll post right?
The Rogue shorts look interesting. However I wish the pocket was on the outside. I need to carry and access my mp3 player.
The VC inseam is too long and like you indicated no outside pocket.
Yes…
I was wearing close to 1” split shorts. For some reason, it was summer and really hot. I was exhausted so I took the subway back instead of running 7 more miles.
I ended up on the subway and sat next to business professional. Oh yeah, I was wearing a compression shirt too.
The next subway stop arrives, it gets crowded and a blonde chick wearing tight jeans stands in front of me. I was sitting and kind of man spreading because I was browsing my phone in between my lap - like I was taking a crap on the toilet.
Anyways, this blonde chick with a ponytail was wearing bright blue Levi tight jeans and she turned around for some reason and decided to hold onto the bar somewhere else.
I could see how round and full her lower body was. Those Levi jeans were fleshed out and looked soft. (I never knew how fat a girl’s butt could get, but it was staring right at my face.
I’m a kind of short runner - torso wise - but if I leaned in slightly, my face would have been inches away from her bubbles...
Since she was on the subway and standing - she decided to take a somewhat wide stance to gain balance. She was straddling her legs kind of wide and shaking her body - or maybe that was the subway rocking back and forth.
I was getting a bone err. Next, the subway got more full and she decided to turn around and face me. The subway was getting so crowded and she had to move in closer to me.
My bone err broke through the soft silky 1” split shorts I was wearing and I was peaking. Worst of all, I sat next to a business professional who obviously saw me since I was next to him.
I grabbed my phone and layered it on top of my bone err and googled random shite. I made myself look annoyed and inconvenienced instead of blushing and creepy.
I got off that subway and never again wore split shorts during rush hour..
Are you pro- or anti-cameltoe?
