How did he do at Daegu?
How did he do at Daegu?
anyone?
He DNFed between 25-30 km into the race
Oh and the link isn’t working so you need to look at the websites results list
How the eff was this guy ever the world record holder? He wouldn't even be able to keep up with the 2:13 Americans on their tempo runs anymore.
He ran 5 km with the leaders (14.49) and then he started to fade.
At the 20 km mark he was already 5 minutes behind the pack and slowing down for a painful 2h20+ finish.
He was the best Marathoner in the world for two consecutive years in 2013 and 2014, one could argue potentially also in 2012.
And to think he basically started running when he was already close to 30...
How good could Kimetto be had he started much earlier like Kipchoge?
His 14.12 split in Berlin Marathon still remains the fastest ever 5k segment at the second half of a Marathon I believe...
Sadly, I don't think Kimetto will ever be back.
Sadly, I think he is finished. Time for him to hang up his running shoes.
unfortunately bekele isn’t that much better the past couple years.
2017: 2nd place and 2 DNF’s
2018: 6th place and DNF
2019: DNF and who knows what else
sorry guys but if you can’t compete at the top level anymore, someone else will do it better.

Also sadly, is that apparently race organizers are still paying him appearance fees. It's not like Kimetto can retire, then go work in the finance industry or be a lawyer in Iten, Kenya.. so hey, if people will still pay him to show up as "the second fastest marathoner ever", even if he drops out, it's worth it. $5000 for an appearance fee at a C-List marathon will go a long way in rural Kenya.

Kimetto: As long as you are getting paid keep doing it. why would you stop?

True.
Kimetto is not in his element. Something is awfully amiss.
Dennis Kimmetto is still the world record holder in the marathon.

That's an interesting claim, considering that Eliud Kipchoge set the new world record last year.

He did that in the cheater flys, kimmeto still holds the non cheating shoe marathon record.

I see. Be sure to contact the IAAF and let them know that Kipchoge's time is invalid.

Dear Real Deal,
Thank you for your email regarding Eliud Kipchoge's race in Berlin. Here at the IAAF, we were not aware he was wearing publicly available Nike shoes at the time of his record that could perhaps upset some people because they don't like Nike and prefer not to buy them. For that reason, we will ratify the record books and reinstate Dennis Kimetto's 2014 Berlin time for the official world record. Thanks for the heads up!

This is the significance of your opinion on the matter:

He should focus on something else apart from running and stop deluding himself. He should focus on making agriculture better in Kenya. That would be good for the people there and the economy.
He's got different knee tracking.
His right knee collapses inward, his left knee is straight-to-bowed. His right foot pronates to account for how much his left knee is pulling him that direction.
