Really great result though. There aren't a ton of women who was run that fast. Bates has put herself in that Trials top group. This run would give her 1:09/2:25-26.
If my math is correct, Radcliffe's WR marathon pace comes to 51:41. With that same pace, she would placed 4th in the girls 3200 at Arcadia.
Yea, erm, that's not really what I was getting at. How do they decide a 10 mile AR? Does it have to be from a 10 mile race? I would imagine Runners that have gone at a faster pace over 13.1 (a similar distance), like Huddle & Sisson, clocked faster 10 mile splits. Why don't they hold the AR then? Maybe those races don't have 10 mile splits but it's a little strange to me to call 52:12 the AR when runners like that have been almost a minute faster.
