Even a Grant Fisher career is a good career!
Where does nico youngs time rank in terms of all time high school
Lukas Verzbicas 8:29.46
German Fernandez 8:34.40
Jeff Nelson 8:36.3
Edward Cheserek 8:39.15i
Nico Young 8:40.00
Gerry Lindgren 8:40.0i

You’re mixing in 32 and 2 mile times there. This would require more conversions than you’ve done to determine if you want to throw in the 2 mile. For pure 3200 it’s the second fastest I think.

These are all full, unconverted 2 mile races according to athletic.net, milesplit.com, and trackandfieldnews.com.

I am a moron and will see myself out!
Yes, I think rabbits would like coleslaw, Brussel sprouts, alfalfa sprouts, and bean sprouts.

You’re right about those races, but Nico ran a 3200. You would need to convert his time to about a 8:43 high and then put it in the list to compare .

8:37.68i+ Hunter 2016

8:40.0i Lindgren 1964
8:40.9 Virgin 1973
8:41.55 Centrowitz 2007
8:41.5 Prefontaine
This is a list from trackandfieldnews.com with 3000’s and 3200’s converted to 2-mile. According to milesplit, an 8:40.00 3200 converts to an 8:43.02 2-mile, so he’s still 1.5 seconds outside of this list. Even if you don’t count the 3000 conversions, that only eliminates Hasty because Drew Hunter also ran an 8:42 2 mile

OK, I'll look it up. 2nd fastest Jr and 10th overall. Three of the faster times were run indoors. In addition Hasty's 3000 converts to 8:39.
Cole Sprout earned a new fan. I've seen many Arcadia 3200s and I've haven't seen a guy try to outrun the entire field from the gun, because these fields are so stacked. And he darn near did it. And he ran 8:40 with a 61 last lap, which would have won in just about any other year. A brave run and a great effort. Yes, that strategy won't win many highly competitive races, but 31 other guys who tried not leading the race also lost, and he beat them all.

It looks to me that if you throw these guys in with collegiates, Nico would be no better than 8:38-40 whereas Cole would be low-8:30's. He kind of reminds me of Todd Williams (5/10,000 great from the '90s).

Knowing ahead of time that few people would care about this, but I'll ask anyway because that's what I do - Is Cole Sprout's 8:40 the second fastest 2nd place time? I believe Grant Fisher's loss to Drew Hunter and Brooks 2 mile was faster. Any other?
And yes, I do find it interesting that it might be the 2nd place 2nd place time.

I'm very impressed with the way Cole Sprout ran his own race, ran hard all the way, and lead the field from the start.
I'm looking forward to see him in upcoming races.
Anything is interesting, if you look at it that way wrote:

Are some people only good at the 3200 and not good at the 2 mile? Who cares about the conversion
I'd put Peter Rabbit as the best rabbit in all of history.
It matters if he is falsely listed as 5th when he should be 10th.
