good luck dude!
good luck dude!
Yikes. Went out too hard (58-59) and died hard (no McClane). A kick didn’t even exist and I ended up 2nd in 4:24. On a positive note, I know where I messed up in training and will adjust accordingly in preparation for a great indoor season.
Thanks for following so far y’all! Now I need a fvcking beer.

You were in NYC so you died hard with a vengeance
Great thread! Keep updating us with your progress!

Su: 11.65 w/ 6 mi progression
Only 36 miles this week to recharge after an eventful week in NYC and to ease back into work. I wanted Wednesday’s workout to be longer but had to cut it short due to high heat and humidity. Still hit 2:49 and 2:50, so not a total lost cause. The long run was solid, especially for not doing one in some time. Started at 6:39 and cut down to 5:25.
Doing one more road 5k on the 29th and then going into base to prepare for indoor, so I’ll be bumping up the mileage quite a bit. Since work will be slowing down in the fall/winter, I’m going to say fvck it and try to handle 70-80 mile weeks before cutting down to 50 when I start working out. Wish me luck!
After a couple of weeks of lackluster training, little sleep, a ton of work, and several nights of heavy drinking, I ended up with a 5k PR today (15:05). Time for a break before indoor, but I really gotta get it together and clean up my act if I want this to go well. I’m starting to think that less mileage and racing may be the way to go to hit sub-4:10 in the next year or two. And obviously less drinking and more sleep.
All inclusive :D
Good game, well played.
Any updates RunningChef?

RunningChef here! (changed the name a while back)
Things have finally changed for the better, and I’m ready to put a lot more into running for a bit and see where it lands me.
The “big jump in mileage?” thread is where I’m going to post updates. There will be far less talking this time around. Happy running y’all! Much love.
