Correction to my previous post - there are four faster 1600m freshman times nationally:
1. Cole Johnson 4:10.50 (2015)
2. Eli Krahn 4:09.38 (2013)
3. Austin Tamagno 4:09.43 (2013)
4. Sintayehu Taye 4:09.69 (2005)
1. Cole Johnson: Did he go to Michigan? Ran a 4:07 indoor mile, 3:49 1500 at Stanford, and a 1:52 800.
2. Eli Krahn: Currently a Senior in high school. Has not improved on his 9th grade times.
3. Austin Tamagno: Currently a junior at Oregon. Did go to indoor NCAA Championships on a DMR team. Has run a 1:50 800 and a 3:41 1500 and a 4:01 mile.
4. Sintayehu Taye: Ran a 3:46 1500 and a 4:04 mile his freshman and soph seasons.
It seems being a 9th grade phenom doesn't really translate into future success.
