Ever since I started school in a new city at the beginning of this year, I've been trying to get my friends from undergrad to come out for a visit. I have spring break this week, and I was really excited when a few of them told me that they'd be able to make it out to hang out for the day. I was stoked, and made a bunch of plans for the day and got reservations at a couple of my favorite restaurants.
This morning around the time they were supposed to arrive, I shot one of them a text just to get an estimate on their ETA. Dude responds with a text that says "April Fools!" and a picture of them all hanging out back at their place (i.e. clearly not on their way to see me). They seem to think that it is hilarious that they "punked" me by telling me they were going to visit and then not showing up. I guess I've always been the more serious person in the group, and their collective opinion seems to be that I'm just being my usual humorless self by not thinking it's hilarious too.
I'm right that this isn't in any way a funny April fools joke and that my friends have become a bunch of dicks, right?
