The way people talk about Ingebrigtsen on here, I assumed he was the best junior distance runner in the world by a wide margin. Kind of surprised to hear that a 12th place finish is a good result for him after seeing him hyped as if he is a generational talent.
Quite disingenuous. He's 18 racing a pack of guys in their early to mid 20s and everyone knows it. The NPC guys will take things at face value of course. I guess that political correctness makes it impossible to call the E. Africans out on their drug use or age cheating. Soccer did it though. All the Africans did was cry "racism" when it turned out several nations were fielding entire teams of players in their mid 20s and up through their mid 30s as juniors. But it helped clean up the sport.
