Very cool! I might even consider turning off my ad blocker for a day or two to help fund this.

This is awesome. Reddit has a community called "Human being Bros: A place to post things that made you smile or brightened up your day." Likewise this did just that, Bros being Human!
I have actual tears in my eyes.. thank you, this is wonderful.
Really looking forward to the race..
Go Kelsey!!! Thanks for paying it forward, guys!
Great job guys!
Glad a qualified runner seized this opportunity.
I too like the idea of a LetsRun Elite team.
Congrats to Kelsey on her selection!
y'all should send Ben Bruce too - you could print up 1 new let's run singlet with name on back and get 2 races out of it...
...and with all these boots on the ground, we should get great coverage of the pressers and after party.
seriously, this is a great idea and a good story - Go Bruce!!!!
A win-win ! She gets the ticket to a world event and the exposure, LRC gets the marketing! I wish her the best.
Wait, women actually visit LRC?
All jokes aside, good luck Kelsey! Make LRC proud!
Way to go Rojo. I didn’t think anyone would take you up on the offer. You should definitely send the other person as well.
Make Letsrun proud Ms bruce.
Good luck Kelsey! Hope you kick some butt!
What a fantastic gesture by the brojos! Kudos to you gents.
PS: If you guys start a fund to send un-sponsored athletes to meets, I'll be happy to chip in.

This shouldn't have factored at all, rojo. Otherwise, I love the gesture, and the pick stands on its own merits, without the gratuitous JK promotion. I'm thrilled for her.
You should have sent the 8:19 steeplechase too.
I like this.
The more interest made about the Championship the more likely it will draw interest for the years to come. Long distance running needs all the good factors that can play for it now!
In addition to what Letsrun have told you before, there will be streaming in Norway at NRK2.
Here is the information from Letsrun:
"In the USA: The meet will be shown live on the Olympic Channel beginning at 5:30 a.m. ET. The meet will also be streamed live on NBC Sports Gold beginning at 6:00 a.m. Eastern Time. First race at 6:00 a.m. ET.
In the UK: You can watch the meet live on the BBC Red Button, Connected TV, BBC Sport website and app, plus the BBC iPlayer. Coverage begins at 09:45 GMT.
In Denmark: TV2 will have four-and-a-half hours of live coverage beginning at 10:30 local time.
In the rest of the world: We believe there will be a geoblocked live stream on YouTube for countries where the meet won’t be shown live. We will post a link here if/when that appears."
Nice!
It's really sad that lots of Euro athletes won't be competing there. Most are off at altitude training in Flagstaff or Kenya at the moment. Outside of the UK cross sadly isn't that well-known :(

Over the weekend as we were getting more and more excited about World XC, it started to bother us that not everyone treats the event like we think it should be treated - as the crown jewel of distance running. Since our efforts earlier in the winter to subtly get Edward Cheserek to race the event didn't quite work, we decided to open it up and be more direct.
So we made an offer. We asked US pros to email us if they wanted go as this year the local organizers have opened up the championship to any runner who has run under 33:00 or women who has broken 37:00 for 10k within the last 12 months (they also take equivalents in other distances).
The response was amazing (so great that we may even end up sending two people) but it was pretty easy for us to figure out who we wanted to pick.
LetsRun, meet Kelsey Bruce - the former DII runner who has gone from 2:48 to 2:31 in the marathon in less than three years - and is ready take on the world.
Find out all about her here:

Great thing you're doing for both Kelsey and the for the sport itself. Good luck to her :)
Sounds like my idea from 5 transcons, ha ha. Only there was zero qualifying & we never refused at least one chance to anyone. Several have no other recorded ultras. 52% made it coast to coast, against daily, mandatory cutoffs. Biggest complaint was that it was the worst-organized race ever held.
Well done to LetsRun for making this happen!
I don't know who the other contenders were but Kelsey seems like an excellent choice and I'm sure she'll do herself and the LetsRun community proud.
Good luck Kelsey and have a great time in Denmark!
Great pick, Brojos. Thanks much for doing this.
If you pick a guy, how about another relatively unknown, with similar qualifications to Kelsey.
Kelsey Bruce, best wishes for you to have a great time and do well!

Now, do you really want to be associated with a website that encourages racist and misogynistic posts?
Whatever. Good luck to you.
Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
Good luck Kelsey!
Nice job @ brojos
