No idea why some random crooked lawyer who tried to sue Nike is such a big deal.

Guy was on MSM over 100x times over a 2-month period. Now look at him.
A Manhattan federal jury on Friday found Avenatti guilty on three counts: extortion, wire fraud and transmission of interstate communications with intent to extort. He faces up to 42 years in prison.
Avenatti, 48, who did not testify in his defense, pleaded not guilty to charges alleging that he tried to extort up to $25 million from Nike by threatening to expose corruption at the company unless he was allowed to conduct an investigation.
Today a unanimous jury found Michael Avenatti guilty of misusing his client’s information in an effort to extort tens of millions of dollars from the athletic apparel company Nike, Manhattan U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman said in a statement. While the defendant may have tried to hide behind legal terms and a suit and tie, the jury clearly saw the defendant’s scheme for what it was – an old fashioned shakedown.
In court Friday, Avenatti was seen in court blessing himself before the verdict was read. He looked straight ahead with a sad expression. After the jury read the verdict, his lawyer put his hand on Avenatti's shoulder.
Sentencing is set for June 17. Avenatti's defense lawyer told reporters he will appeal on the basis of jury instructions and said Avenatti was "very disappointed" with the verdict.
In addition to the extortion trial, Avenatti also faces an April trial in New York on charges that he defrauded Daniels of book proceeds and a May trial in Los Angeles on charges that he defrauded clients and others of millions of dollars.
https://twitter.com/SDNYnews/status/1228412908884889602Avenatti was more aggressive on his phone call to NIKE than most attorneys most likely, but it sounded like hard ball negotiation tactics to me. This NIKE criminal case is a Life Time Achievement Award for Avenatti. His girlfriend a year ago had Avenatti arrested for battery. That case went away. Avenatti was sued years ago by a former law partner for Absconding of Funds. Avenatti was sued by a disabled client for Embezzlement of Trust Fund. Was over billing an issue with Stephanie Clifford? If Avenatti had a better reputation, the NIKE case never would have been a criminal case against Avenatti. I am sure Personal Injury Attorneys talk in a similar manner as Avenatti talked on phone to Nike.
On Gunsmoke a dishonest guy usually ended up dead by the time the show was over.
Looks like pit bull Avenatti is in the dog house!

This guy Avenatti cracks me up. You all should just try to be nice to him. At least he's trying his best at being a lawyer.
A for effort.

I mean any Lawyer with more than 2 weeks of experience would know that these are things you don't say to Nike, but on the other hand it's pretty funny.
He could just tell everyone he was joking I guess. That could help his case.
Negativity, sarcasm, name calling, anger, and hatred seems to get the most twitter responses and likes.
He was simply it appears trying to become famous at the same time.
But the problem is this. Nike has done more good for the world than bad. So overall Nike isn't to blame here.
And Avenatti's quest for fame has taken a bad turn due to his head getting over inflated by all of the replies, likes, retweets, etc, on his twitter page. It has boosted his ego.
So when he's reading all of those comments on twitter, he felt the need to continue to go after Nike and continue to make them appear to be at fault.
But I literally don't see any fault in Nike at this point. What did they do wrong? It appears they did nothing wrong.
We should all be feeling bad for Avenatti now that he has to go through this. It's funny at the same time that he would even dare say those things to Nike..
So the comedy factor of all of this is really good. I mean maybe that's what Avenatti was going for. the comedy factor.
So we can thank Avenatti for providing us with comedy. Look at it like that.

Bombs Away!! LOL
Avenatti weeps in court before sentencing and he gets off with a slap on the wrist: 2.5 years in prison.
