I ran 10:30 for 3200 meters this year at 53. How much will I fall off over the next 7 years?
Personally I noticed a big change at 54,55.
I was breaking 5:00 in the mile up to about 49, then I was close at 50-53, then I just couldn't put in the training.
BUT- I wasn't diligent with strength training and stretching when I was younger.
If I could go back, I would be and I would pay more attention to my diet.

The key as you get older is strength training, because strength is what we are losing fastest as we age, and it is vital to most forms of athletic performance.

Do us old guys need more than just strength training?
https://youtu.be/NHusnj0pJFsLooks like he has lived in Kazakhstan since at least 1979, but he is definitely Russian by ethnicity. I had little doubt based on his name, but just to be sure and have some hard evidence (given we have a lot of people here that demand evidence, sometimes for a good reason, and sometimes just because), I decided to find an interview with him:
As I expected, his Russian was right in the middle of the range of what one would expect from his name :-) This not to say about the TV anchor at the start - she speaks it with a slight accent, likely she did not speak it in the home.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
