Yes Frank sure does have the physique of a world record holder. Check out the bulging midriff here...

Frequently people assert that they know fat people who are fast runners - it would be interesting to be given some examples with verifiable information.
Roderick, your boy can cheat in triathlons as well as running, you’ve proved that! Plus, you personally can lie about triathlons just like runs.
In response to Meza's assertion that he left the LAM 2018 course to pee, recall that according to the course map, there were porta potties about a block before the location where the runner is shown in the picture re-entering the course in front of Hooters, just past the aid station. The runner would have just ran by the porta potties when he suddenly realized he had to pee and pulled off the course to pee on a (closed) storefront.
Fair and balanced.
From the photos, it looked like there may have been porta potties on the opposite side of the street near El Capitan and Ghirardelli.
Interesting. (By the way I meant to say 2019 course map in my post above.) The behavior...peeing on a storefront...would make even less sense if there were porta potties basically right across the street.
Just checked the map, El Capitan/Ghirardelli are on the same block same side of the street just before Hooters. How could the runner not be able to find porta potties there ? Lol.
Doubler, in the video you assembled, there is what looks like a female in running attire with a race bib who appears at about 0:32 at or near the same location where the runner re-enters the course. She is not running, just milling around right off the sidewalk. I wonder if it's possible to determine her bib number from one of the high res photos.
I think I know the runner you are referring to. I could not get that runner’s number. I never see them re-appear. I thought maybe there was a bib hand off. But the bib that runner was wearing was a different color than Frank’s.
I did have a note to look back further at the El Capitan photos. But I don’t think there’s a relation there.
Cleverly researched. The article is fair, the information speaks for itself. As a runner who believes in fairness I am outraged.
He cuts courses.
You did a great job. I look forward to your future findings regarding this. I will contribute to this website. I encourage others to do likewise. It imagine Franks comment about obtaining counsel is probably something you have heard before. Seems you have just presented an observation, that he admitted was factual. (going off course, than re-entering) I imagine he did not expect someone to dissect the event so intensely. I imagine someone will forward your article to the RD's?
These tri results are more intriguing than his record setting marathons. In one tri, he finishes 5th out of 5 in the 65 - 69 age group in the swim and in another, he's 3rd out of 104 overall coming out of the water!
"Obtaining counsel" = an admission of guilt
keep up the good work, derek! thank you for the article and look forward to seeing more.
I am outraged, I repeat, OUTRAGED, by this runner's excuse for veering off course.
I understand that marathoners do all kinds of weird and disgusting stuff to save time. Nevertheless, I would assume urinating on a private storefront is some type of LA sewer ordinance violation, and really should be discouraged when the race provides porta potties. Nature calls, but peeing on Hooters is not cool, man.

More than fair. It's almost as if Derek didn't want to kick the guy when he was already laying on the ground.
"He denied cutting the course and closed the lines of communication after stating that I was clearly out to harm and discredit him. He informed me that he would be obtaining counsel."
I had expected a far different response -- one that might have taken a lot of the wind out of the sails of this thread and left a lot of people wondering, once again, what these kinds of cases are really all about. Instead, it remains, at least for a while, a detective story about things like photographic interpretion and timing mats.
