Wow - another amazing find.
I cant recall, deadesq, if you covered LAM 2018 in your previous photo sets.
I did not find much of use in 2018, other than this fun tidbit. After Frank’s blazing 2:56:12 last year, he looks to have waited around an hour, then walked back on Ocean Ave. a bit to accompany his old buddy Philip Bland while PB finished. I can tell you from personal experience, since I’ve run a few sub 3-hour marathons, that the first thing I did after each one was get my sweats on and walk away from the finish. There’s no way I could have cooled down for an hour after an effort like that, then stripped down and run some more, even at a slow pace. My last decent marathon effort was a 3:04, and I was still essentially crippled within an hour after the race. Literally, I could barely lift my foot high enough to get up a curb from the street when I went back to my car. And I’m a good bit younger than Frank. But run with PB he did....
Anyway--stay tuned. LAM 2016 coming up in my next post.
