Cheating in endurance events does not make someone incompetent as a medical practitioner.
There's a medical doctor/surgeon in my town, who medically speaking, is a phenomenal surgeon. One of the best in the state. He's exceptionally smart and competent in the medical profession, but he's eccentric and a total wacko. His vehicle is smashed to hell, because, among other things, he tries, whenever possible, to avoid breaking and stopping, even when legally required at stop signs and stop lights, because he wants to "converse gasoline." He has many other antisocial tendencies as well.
That said, there is no question I would choose him if I needed surgery.
