If he used a bike, he'd have to backtrack from the mat back to where he left the bike. All-out seems to be about 8 minutes per mile for him. So in the case of the Hollywood mat, he'd have to run slightly less than a mile, backtrack at recovery pace (12 minutes per mile?) hop on the bike, and ride to the next point before the chip mat, lock up his bike, and start running again to hit the next chip mat at the right time. There is no way he's fit enough to do that. Either he drove himself, or someone was picking him up and dropping him off, which would save him the time of trying to find a parking spot, which is not easy in LA.
