9th among the women should be Eunice Jeptoo, 35yo and ranked 120. 2nd in Sydney last year in 2.32.22, just one second faster than the even older athlete i have chosen to finish 10th here ran in 2018. But Jeptoo's PB was only in 2017, winning Eindhoven in 2.26.13. Also a good result in 2016 in Rennes, France, 2nd in 2.31.58. Never really committed to a half in her career, best time of 1.19.38 in 2007.

Tenth placing may be Noah Droddy, ranked 563 and 28yo. Was 19th in Chicago taking 2,16,26 in 2017 and also had a great half that year in New York, finishing 7th in 61.48.

10th woman is Elvan Abeylegesse of Turkey who in 2004 broke the 6 and a half year old world record in the 5000m on the track of a Chinese athlete and is still the 12th fastest female all-time [14.24.68] over that trip. Elvan is now 36yo and ranked 263 as a marathoner. Her best half ever was in 2010 at 67.07 and fastest marathon was 2.29.30 in 2013. Last year Abeylegesse finished 5th in Istanbul in 2.32.23. On the subject of Istanbul, if i had known the depth of tomorrow elite fields for the half there, i would have loved delivering some more profiles like this for them.

Do you have a link to the Istanbul Elite Fields? Thank You in advance. -
What American's or Canadian's are running? Sage Canaday is all I've got. Anyone else? Post sub-elites or sub-sub-elites 2:19:01-2:30 guys too.

I've heard Noah Droddy is running.
Ben Zywicki is running. 2016 trials qualifier, 13th at Boston 2018. -
Will this list change tomorrow? Will the US have a time that places them in one of the top 10 countries?

You forgot arguably the main favourite in the men's race.
Josphat Boit, who paced Kipchoge in Berlin. I'd be surprised to see him outside the podium tomorrow. -

Couldn’t find an IAAF profile on him, which is where I start, then try to find some interesting stats or story. -

Sorry Douglas, all I have seen is a preview from the IAAF that names 3 or 4 men and women. That is my point. For you and I who are consumed by the race, if we had access to all the info, we could enjoy it all so much more. -

I am not going to focus on North Americans even if 80% of the readers here are from there. Get out of your backyard a little more. And if someone has a sub-elite list, pass it on. -
Just under ten hours til the start.

Editor's note: We've changed this into the official discussion thread. It was initially entitled, "15 days until Rotterdam Marathon, here are 30 Profiles, 2 each day."
My choice to win is Kelkile Gezahegn, 22 years old and ranked 9. Far from the quickest in this field, five with better PB's. He was 6th in Dubai in January. Last year he was 3rd here in his fastest time then won Lanzhou and Frankfurt. The previous year he had run the same three races, with results of 6th, first, and second.
Thanks to the nod from the editor. -
Coach Canova expects Boit will run around 2.06.00.
I would expect he should finish in top 5 in Rotterdam. -
Will there be any good streams for the race?

So battling with Saina, Kipserem, and Gezahegn. -
Keep an eye out for Dutchman Abdi Nageeye. “Only” a 2:08 marathoner but recently ran 1:00:24 for the half. Says he’s going for the win.
-
How do you think he might go vs an experienced man at the 42+km distance who put in 5k splits after the 30k mark of 14.09 and 14.12 at his second last attempt then finished close behind Molla, Negasa, and Mengstu in Dubai in Jan? Good to go for the win without getting your ability mixed up with your ambition.

Eleventh over the line should be Silas Too, ranked 142 and born 88 [so is 30 or 31]. He has already run a marathon in Jan, running 6th in Mumbai in 2.12.08. Two quicker runs in 2018, second Barcelona in 2.08.26 and 4th Eindhoven [2.08.34]. Back in 2015 won two small marathons in slow times of 2.16.20 and 2.20.00. Slow for a man but life-changing for a woman.
