I am currently in the market for a new GPS smartwatch with music capabilities. I'm deciding between the Fitbit Ionic, the Garmin Vivoactive 3, and the Samsung Galaxy Active watch. It's hard to reach a conclusion on which watch is better from reading the reviews so I was wondering if anyone here would have any advice.
The Samsung Galaxy Active, has Spotify connectivity which is huge for me, I just don't know how it fares as a running watch. And the reviews on the Garmin and the Fitbit have been iffy, but from what I have read, they are better running watches. I would appreciate any input as this is a tough decision.
I own both the Samsung Galaxy Active and the Garmin 645 music. The Galaxy Active is a really nice watch for everyday use but I'd rate it a 5/10 (at best) for running purposes. GPS connectivity is spotty and training functionality is limited. I bought it with the intention of using it for running, but it really didn't do everything I needed it to, so eventually I gave in and bought the Garmin.
My advice? Get the 645 music, without question. It's less than $100 more on Amazon, and gives you far better value for money. It also allows for offline Spotify playback now too , which really was the one standout feature of the Galaxy Active.
