2:20 pace for Kipchoge - how would that feel for him?
Could he bang one out each week?
I could probably bang out a MP + 30 secs marathon each Sunday

His long runs are equivalent to sub 2:20 so he probably has done well more than 80 already depending on how you look at it..
Every other week he seems to run a 40k long run in training around 2:20-2:25 pace at very high altitude. He could easily run 30 sub 2:20 marathons this year if he wanted to. And another 30 next year.
He probably does it in his training. But he doesn't fly all over to join all the different marathons.

He would be broken into little pieces after 1 or 2 months if he tried to follow Kawauchi's racing schedule. Kipchoge is adapted to producing stellar runs every 6 months or so. Kawauchi is adapted to churning out high speed marathons week in week out. They are different types of runners.
What garbage of a post. Kawauchi can't even double anymore due to injuries he sustained when in a high mileage program.
Kipchoge runs 2:20 every 10th day... at altitude, on dirt rutty and hilly roads.
Would love to see Kawauchi try to spend 2 weeks at the NN Running Camp. Bring it on.

Or, maybe he found that his body responds better to training just once a day?
According to the Wikipedia page on Yuki Kawauchi:
Shortest period of time (14 days) between two sub-2:10 marathons - 2:09:05 (2013), 2:09:15 (2014)
Shortest period of time (42 days) between two sub-2:09 marathons - 2:08:15, 2:08:14 (2013)
His training is unorthodox, but I don't get why it is triggering. Explained here in these articles.

No way. Kawauchi holds down a demanding full time job and he has to fit his training in around that hence only singles. Kipchoge is a great runner but he may not even be able to run a sub 2-20 marathon if had to work full time, live with limited sleep, and commute to work. In contrast Kawauchi was running sub 2-10 marathons (i.e. much faster than sub 2-20) just 2 weeks apart while working at his job in between. Kawauchi also busted out a sub 14 5000m then a 3-50 1500m at the same track meet just 5 days (of full time work no less) after winning a marathon in 2h11 (and that was his second marathon in 3 weeks!!) - Kipchoge would still be struggling to get out of his ice bath in comparison. Kawauchi is just on another level in his ability to hold down a full time job, train with limited sleep and just keep throwing out great marathon performances week in week out, there has not been another runner like him in history. Give Kipchoge a full time job and Kawauchi's race schedule and he is toast within one month.
Yes, easily, but why would he want to do that???
0/10
A 2:11 marathon at sea level on a paved road would be a moderate training run for Kipchoge.
No, he can´t.
Yuki run for glory. Eliud run for money
Kip chive could accomplish this in six months.
Yuki is a clown and a fake job.
Understand that.
I’m pretty sure Kipchoge could run 2h11, sub 14, sub 3:50 in one race
If I had a trillion dollars - I would offer Kipchoge 1 billion to do a sub-2:20 every day for 50 days so straight so everyone knows what a fraud Dean Karnazes is.

A 2:20 Marathon is equal to a 4:16.78 one mile. Your question is similar to asking: How many sub-4:16.75 one mile races could H. el G. have done while he was in peak fitness in a year?

No, it's not. A hard mile takes much less than a hard marathon. El G prolly could have done a sub 4:16.75 twice a day (at least), everyday. Once AM once PM.
