NYC half marathon is tomorrow with American Paul Chelimo making his debut over the distance. What will we see from him? I think perhaps 61:45-62:30.
Editor's note: We are changing this into the Official discussion thread as well.

Slow course, sand bagging leaders...63:00 flat at best
All I can tell you is that Reed Fischer will remain as the USA's top half marathoner after the NY half.
With better weather, maybe a low 61:00, but with it this cold, 62 flat?
That depends how much EPO he has taken before NYC. Could vary 3-4 minutes with or without EPO.
He’s still young. 12:57 5k. Sub 61. I want to say sub 60 but for his first one he will take it conservative. So let’s say 60:30

Low 30's at race time + difficult course= 62:45

You know that Ritz won the Rock ‘N’ Roll New Orleans Half Marathon right? He ran 61:24 to stamp himself as the fastest half marathoner in American so far this year. Reed’s 62:06 US #1 lasted just over 20 days.

"Conservative"?? A 60:30 on a relatively hilly course (approx. 500' of gain?) in cold weather would be stellar!

According to official sports governing bodies, the New Orleans half does not count.

False news!!
Of course the race will go on and be televised. After all the commercials and human interest stories, you'll only get to see 3k of the race. That gives them the odds of missing the break at 84%!!
People are trying to compare him to other US half-marathoners, but they forget that this guy is an Olympic silver medalist and a 12:57 man...sub-60:00 is definitely in his wheelhouse, and even in poor conditions on a mediocre course, he'll still be sub-62:00.

I agree
I'll say 61 low in a tactical race
He hasn't shown to be as dominant on the roads or at longer distances.
A 12:57 track 5k certainly equates to a sub 60 half, but he's not as good on the road or a longer distance, and the NYC course isn't very fast.
I'll say 62 flat as long as it's not tactical and be around 4th or 5th place, winner will be low 61.
Coverage (using the term loosely) starts in 2 minutes. A bit of a headwind most of the way as its a point to point from Prospect Park in Brooklyn (hilly) to Central Park in Manhattan. 35 degrees at the start, 34 at the finish.
