Yeah with that horrible music in the background.
The commentator doesn't have more of a clue than us though, hehe...

That clown doesn't even recognize Kiptum who's clearly visible on the left of the screen with orange shoes and the nike green/black singlet. Has a euro looking bearded guy next to him, who could that be ?
This is NOT Kiptum jacka$$, pathetic
Thanks.
I really like this coverage!
Ok the euro bearded guy is now gone.
Kiptum clearly visible in the front with his bouncing Kiprop style, orange shoes, dark green Nike singlet.
PR guy told Jonathan Gault he doesn't think there is a timing site.
It amazes me that someone thinks, "Hey lets drop 100k on first place for a race but not have a timing website."
And doesn't think to reach out to the media/IAAF.
Like how does this race come into existence.?
Has anyone seen a kilometre marker?
At least no one's going to be able to argue about the course being short ;-)

All I see is a bunch of dudes kissing another dudes hand and some women speaking Arabic. Still better than NBC’s coverage of anything.
Haha!

There seemed to be some timing equipment just before the water station.
Commentator completely lost, can't even count anymore, much more than 8 guys in there.
And why does he keep referring to Kiptum and his teammates, I suppose he means the other Kenyans ;-)
It is a little like watching cross country. But without knowing who is where. And with that endless music loop.
The women are looking at their watches. Maybe they have an indication on their speed. Or are they just trying to judge how far they went by looking at the time they have spent running?
Women's race looks like it's down to Ruth Chepngetich (Dubai champ in January in 2:17), World Half champ Netsanet Gudeta, and Chicago Marathon/Houston Half champ Brigid Kosgei. They must have about 5k to go but there's no clock or splits anywhere.
So that would be Netsanet Gudeta ("the woman in white" as the commentator calls her) versus two Kenyans? Can't read their bibs.
Thanks. You answered before I asked.

Thanks for clearing some confusion, you should text the commentator who's completely lost !
Nice to know you're going to be making at least 15k, well gross.
The Bahrain Half media guy just sent me a screenshot of the 10k split -- 29:07 (61:25 pace) -- which explains why so many men are still in the lead pack.
Gudeta says goodbye to 85k !
