Because I am an artist. Like, a good one. I spent years in art school studying all things visual not just being able to draw but design principles, color theory, all of the stuff that makes art "good". And tattoos (yes, yours) are visually ugly, full stop.
Most people are are artistically ignorant, and I don't mean that as an insult, it's just a fact. Think about it, when we first start learning, we learn our colors and shapes but then we tell kids "you're good now!", Imagine if we told kids that once they learned their ABCs that no more education was required for reading, that would be INSANE.
So. You say- " well. you might see them as ugly, but I see them as beautiful" well. Yes. You might see tattoos the same way an illiterate person only sees the value of books as toilet paper. I'm not saying wiping your butt isn't important! But that's what toilet paper is for. And being ignorant doesn't make you right, it just makes you dumb.
The human form is stunningly beautiful, far more than any tattoo. Tattoos only take away from that beauty and that is a sad thing. When you get a tattoo you lose something important that you can't get back (at least not without tremendous effort). And the world becomes a less beautiful and less interesting place. And as an artist that offends me on a deep and fundamental level, but mostly, it just makes me sad people don't recognize how beautiful they are.
So go ahead. Argue with the guy who has spent years in school studying this, and who makes his living doing art. Then go outside and tell me how climate change isn't real because it's cold outside. And don't get tattoos.
