What is she training for right now? Is there another goal race before the 2020 marathon trials?

Oh, you didn't hear?
I assume everyone knew...
I'm not going to tell him. You do it.
Oh, this is a bit awkward...
on Mar 5 she announced on Twitter that, "the off season is over," and she is, "back for her second season as a professional runner and has her sights on the Big Show: The Olympic Trials."
same day she also Tweeted that she loves being on the BTC and, "helping coach the next generation of runners."
and, just today she was thrilled to Tweet that, "I have wanted @Costco to stock garbanzo beans forever."
this is accompanied by a photograph of a supermarket sized pile of 6-packs of garbanzo beans. in @Costco, presumably.
so, now you know everything important in the life of Gwen Jorgensen.
pleased to be of service.

good job covering it up for all the kids on here. we wouldn't want to poison their minds with what has actually been going on.

Would these forums actually exist without Gwen?
Jorgensen and Allie Kieffer illustrate a problem with elites' social media presence.
When things are going well, they post videos, etc. every time they tie a shoe or drink coffee. This is to be transparent, share with their fans, show what it takes, blah, blah, blah.
When, as is inevitable, things don't go well, crickets or, like Jorgensen, vague inanities. Late last year she wrote about a spring marathon. Now that just goes unmentioned. Meanwhile, she's "building resiliency" and seen doing a really hard cycling workout. So either she's thinking about returning to triathlon, or she's been hurt.
I really don't care about the particulars of Jorgensen's race plans or Kieffer's injury. But be consistent. If you expect people to watch video of every tempo run you do, then have the maturity to give updates with details when you have a setback.

Agreed. Their young psyche just couldn't handle it...

Gotta be an injury, there is zero chance she would go back to triathlon

Exactly agree. If you post everything out there, at least tell us your injury. At least Rupp has the decency to say his injury and he's not even on social media. "Season's over" doesn't cut it. You take the good, you take the bad....
Do not lump Gwen with Allie, Allie's been prolific with training clips and photos over the past year, like an actual runner. Gwen, on the other hand, started out interesting training-wise, but devolved to where she's either posting some boring nonsense featuring her kid (who cares?!!) or one of the many products she's sponsoring.

covering what up?
like I said, I'm not her manager, I have very little interest in either her or her career, I do not "follow" her on social media and do not expect to see her qualify for the olympic team. if you think there is something, "the kids on here," need to know, you are of course at perfect liberty to divulge it yourself.
... but, of course, you could have done that the first time, instead of trolling me. couldn't you!

So how do the new IAAF Olympic standards affect someone like Gwen who has not run sun 2:30 yet? Is she going to have to run around the world running half marathons to build up some ranking?
The less we hear from Jorgensen the better.
Her story "gold medalist olympic triathlete to gold medalist olympic marathoner" got way ahead of the realities of doing this. They were hard selling this storyline until they realized the possibility of executing this was not going to happen. I think she will pull back from this attempt.
Clomiphene. 6 months.

don't confuse pro vs elite
there are 3 hour marathoners who are actually pro
both of these athletes (and the 3 hour women) are marketing geniuses to make a living from running despite not being in the top 10% of world-class marathoners
there are faster runners who are far worse off because they have poor business skills or simply love running far more than pushing product
I just want to call attention to the first 5 posts of this thread. Well done sir/ma'am, well done.
