Did he get his medical license back yet?
Ya, his record is definitely a Matt London type record. But hey, one record for a sport no one knew existed is more records than I have.

Yes, vegans go home DEVASTATED.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4b-okpHuaaMWhat is it with you diet obsessives and YouTube? Put whatever you have to say in writing. I don't want to watch some guy ramble for 20 minutes when his point could be made in 350 words.
It's like you think there is a big conspiracy going on...lead by vegetable crop farmers? Are you also an anti-vaxxer and flatEarther? Talk about fear based. And how are "blue zone" cultures made up exactly? You don't think keto/Atkins/Paleo low carb diet is big business? Look at the financial pull the US has in just meat and dairy....Billions and billions of dollars (and government subsidies). The science I cite is "crap" but yours is truth because you found some crazy youtube videos of ex-vegans and anti-vegan rants? Again double standard and you are obviously full of bias. At least I admit to my bias. Veggies and fruits are some of the most nutrient dense (for vitamins/antioxidants and minerals) foods one can eat...especially when we talk about nutrient density per calorie. They are also great for rehydrating and the carbs are obviously the best fuel source for endurance sports/activity. Why do you think runners like Zach Bitter and Jeff Browning are sponsored by companies like "GU" and "Xendurance"...some of the most sugary gel products on the market? Because they have to take them in a race to run well. And what are these "anti-nutrients" in vegetables/fruits exactly? Smh.
I don't mean "eating clean". No idea where you got that from and I think the whole concept is BS.
I meant why exclude things like salmon etc completely. It doesn't make sense to me. What I said has nothing to do with a plant based diet or high carb. I actually prefer the opposite, so I don't get how you got to that from what I wrote.
Also how the fuuck would eating a variety of unprocessed foods lead to a deterioration in health? I'm saying I don't think 100% meat as a diet is long term healthy, just like I don't think veganism or vegetarianism is healthy.
Just a quick google search.

I misspoke, he is the M50+ World Champion at 500m:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lX_NO2T2V3YShawn held/holds the heavyweight 100m record of 13.4 sec from 2017. I don't follow rowing, and couldn't find a link with the records, so I don't know if Jeffrey broke this record. It appears the two are the top rowers in this category.
I’ll repeat he currently owns ZERO records from 100m , 500m , 1 minute ... 40-49 or 50-59 heavyweight...
His 100m record 40-49 HW, was surpassed in 2018 with a 13.2 by Maciej Maciejewski and then tied by Noel Carey here in 2019.
The 50-59 HW record over 100m is 13.1 by Paul Jeffrey

I'm crushed.
Lol, thanks for inadvertently adding to his resume of a world 500m champion and previous M50 100 record, the previousM45 100record as well. Sounds like a really marginal athlete.

You don't understand that plants are loaded with toxic defense chemicals, and in may cases, being "unprocessed" makes them even more toxic to consume? Have you aver eaten beans or legumes raw, for instance?
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2217210Abstract
The toxicological significance of exposures to synthetic chemicals is examined in the context of exposures to naturally occurring chemicals. We calculate that 99.99% (by weight) of the pesticides in the American diet are chemicals that plants produce to defend themselves. Only 52 natural pesticides have been tested in high-dose animal cancer tests, and about half (27) are rodent carcinogens; these 27 are shown to be present in many common foods. We conclude that natural and synthetic chemicals are equally likely to be positive in animal cancer tests. We also conclude that at the low doses of most human exposures the comparative hazards of synthetic pesticide residues are insignificant.
Nothing brings out the whackos on LR like a thread about diet.
YMMV is obviously obsesses with this guy and the idea of eating meat and only meat.
There is no "best diet" only the diet that works best for you.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qw_TkbUXFrwAfter four months on a "meat first" diet, I can confirm that my gut health is as perfect as I can ever imagine. Six decades of plant-based eating with high fiber was an unending drama of gut issues.
All meat diet? All anything diet is not healthy. Surely meat can’t supply all nutrients. Vitamin C, A fiber, etc.
Plus, all his physical accomplishments are due to one type of attribute, strength at a particular age. It’s like me saying I’m the best 54 year old at the mile, mile and six meters, 9 meters etc, except he’s even more esoteric.
Pure quackery and need for attention

Go to the zoo and ask them what does each animal eat. Every species has a diet they evolved to eat. Humans are no different. What is the best diet for a human being to eat? Looking at how our digestive track is different from our great ape ancestors. Looking at how primitive people are before they were ruined by Western civilization. Etc. It is clear that the best diet for a human being is meat base, with some seasonal fruits, nuts and fermented grains, maybe some root vegetables. Green leafy vegetables are for cows and other herbivores.

Liver, has lots of vitamin c and the only pre formed vitamin a is found in animals, not plants.

Also, fiber is not a essential nutrient.

I have subscribed to Human Performance Outliers yourtube for a while but didn't realize the depth of his accomplishments until his veracity was questioned in this thread. He generally is quite humble in his presentation, as of course, Zach is as well. Anything but attention-seeking or "whacko" in my estimation. I must say I'm more impressed than ever.
As for me, I know for certain that going "meat first" and eating 80-90% animal-based has been a huge improvement over even keto, but I enjoy a few plant-based treats that don't seem to be causing issues, so no need to go full carnivore at the moment. But as I have repeatedly emphasized, this is an evolution, not a program or dogma or religion. Just a personal journey that others have been sharing as well.
You do realize that most people consider that running anything more than the minimum required for health is for "whackos", right? In that sense, I consider it as saying more about the accuser than the accused. Being truly healthy, orthopedically sound and fit in our 2019 world is just plain weird and aberrant to most people.
I do agree with your final statement (see my handle), with the caveat that there is indeed a requirement for animal products in the human diet for long-term health and fitness. We are not herbivores.
Good discussion. I am a regular listener to the podcast co-hosted by Dr. Baker and Zach Bitter and they often have guests that offer some very convincing evidence supporting a meat based diet. Also check out Dr. Gabrielle Lyons who was on a few weeks prior to Dr. Naiman. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBdHjkunLSs&t=3877s
Seriously? You look up things on wikipedia as your resource.... Wow, with all these "anti-nutrients" from plants I surely will be wasting away soon...unable to absorb any vitamins/nutrients and protein. These poisonous legumes and that dang toxic spinach I've been eating (not to mention that horrible broccoli, brussel sprouts and cauliflower)! You heard it here first kids, stay away from eating these vegetables if you want to be healthy! Then we have red meat that has been classified as a class-1 carcinogen..... smh.

First, on your last point. Red meat isn't classified as a class 1 carcinogen.
Second, what's wrong with Wikipedia? As long as there sources are legit. Which they usually are, I don't see a problem using Wikipedia. Do you have a problem someone looking at your Wikipedia page to do research on you?
Third, you're already wasting away. Every video I watch of you. You have brain fog and always forget what you are saying mid sentence. Something you should see in elderly people, not someone in their 30s.
